Infrastructure

The existing research infrastructure is valued closed to 6.5 M Euros and consists in over 20 research equipment with an individual value of more than 100,000 Euros considered fundamentally for increasing the ICSTM of VUT chances of absorbing funds from:

  • national and international CDI projects
  • the institutional development fund (CNFIS-FDI)
  • contracts with other universities, institutes, agencies, organizations and economic agents.

Active noise control laboratory

To develop and evaluate an integrated solution for adaptive distributed networks by examining the required number of microphones and loudspeakers that enable real-time implementation and weighting advantages and disadvantages of the investigated algorithms. Equipments: Jetson TX2 Developer kit, Audio-Technica AT4040, JBL LSR 305 (8), Sonarworks XREF 20 Microphone, Behringer Amplifier A500, DBX 1231 Processor, DSE MP210 Mixer, t.bone SC 440 microphone, DBX 166XS Dynamic processor, Pioneer Speakers (4).

Experimental Photovoltaic Platform

1 – Thermo Solar system for building heating contribution – 26kWp (12x Westech SP-S58/1800A-20 EHPT heat pipe collectors; 5x Alfa-Bit Beta 58/1800-12 evacuated tube collectors; 10x Tesy SP 07 250 ASL flat-plate collectors; 3x Taconova Tacosol Circ ZR High efficiency pump station; 3x Ferroli Ecounit 1000 – 2WB heat exchange and storage) 2 – Domestic Hot Water Thermo Solar system – 600liters (2x SunSystem 300l thermo siphon, 4x flat-plate collectors) 3 – Adsorption Chiller – 32kWp (2x SorTech eCoo 2.0).

Experimental Aeolian Platform

1 – OnGrid terrestrial wind generator – 20kWp (1x Aeolos HAWT upwind 10kW, 24m monopole, horizontal axis; 1x Aeolos VAWT 10kW, 260rpm, 18m monopole, vertical axis; 2x ABB Wind interface 15kW; 2x ABB PVI-12.5-TL-OUTD-W) 2 – MagLev energy recovery wind generator – 3kWp (1x Typmar Maglev CXF-3000W 96V) 3 – RoofTop SmallWind generator – 2kWp (1x Aeolos HAWT 1kW, with tail; 1x Aeolos VAWT 1kW) 4 – Environmental DataLogging (1x Gill Instruments MetPak + WindMaster Pro 3D Anemometer).

SoNoScout NVH Binaural Recording and Analysis System

SoNoScout NVH Type 3653-A is a focused automotive NVH tool for two-channel sound data acquisition and analysis. SoNoScout is highly portable, versatile and very easy to use. For maximum recording flexibility, the system provides phantom or ICP® power and optionally can record digital signals direct. For simultaneous recording of audio and positional data, a GPS unit is included.

HPLC system 1260 Infinity II (with RI detector, diode array detector, and FLD spectra)

The 1260 Infinity II LC System is a robust HPLC that offers the widest choice of modules for analytical HPLC and entry-level UHPLC, delivering the performance, reliability, and robustness you need for the highest confidence in your daily results. The Agilent 1260 Infinity II LC System is part of the Agilent InfinityLab family, every component is designed to work together. Secondary detectors can supplement or replace the standard diode array detector to detect the analytes. It allows connecting modules from another Agilent HPLC series to achieve the desired analysis by HPLC. The Flex Bench system enables easy module exchanges and offers an ergonomic option to stack MS systems with the HPLC system.

Ultrapure Water Installation

Pure water with a resistivity of >1 Mohm-cm at 25ºC is categorized as Type 2 per ASTM D1193, and is commonly used for general laboratory applications such as buffer, media and reagent preparation, glassware rinsing, and supplying equipment.
