Infrastructure

The existing research infrastructure is valued closed to 6.5 M Euros and consists in over 20 research equipment with an individual value of more than 100,000 Euros considered fundamentally for increasing the ICSTM of VUT chances of absorbing funds from:

  • national and international CDI projects
  • the institutional development fund (CNFIS-FDI)
  • contracts with other universities, institutes, agencies, organizations and economic agents.

SMART Flexible Assembly System

The Flexible Assembly Line has been designed to enable the application and testing of a broad range of manufacturing strategies such as pallet transport systems, warehouse stations, assembly stations and testing stations, all interconnected with various industrial communication networks (Profibus, IO-Link, Profinet etc.).

Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer Coupled With High Resolution Infrared Microscope

FT-IR spectroscopy system for advanced research consists of: FT-IR spectrometer Vertex 80 and high-resolution microscope Hyperion 3000. The system is designed for advanced research activities in various fields: physics of materials, environmental studies, studies of inorganic, organic, macromolecular and pharmacology, molecular and cellular biology, research in ceramics and semiconductor, composites and nanomaterials research, food analysis, study of documents and art objects and other fields.

Atomic absorption spectrometer, ZEEnit 700

Atomic absorption spectrometer, with flame (FAAS) and graphite furnace (GFAAS) techniques, computer-controlled, equipped with 6 lamps turret. Available hollow cathode lamps for Pb, Ca, Mg, Cr, Fe, Zn, Na, Al, K, Ti, Ni, Cu, Ge, Se, Sr, Y, Zr, Ag, Cd, Mn, Au. UV VIS Spectrophotometer Spekol 1300

The instrument is a single beam spectrophotometer, compact and ruggedness. Sample compartment accepts cells from 10 mm to 100mm path length. It is equipped with a LCD display and water-proof touch-sensitive keyboard and allows connection to printer.

Berghof Microwave digester MWS2

This instrument using the microwave field and pressure to digest various samples (organic and inorganic matrixes) for further analysis in liquid solutions. Suitable for samples derived from areas such as agriculture, nutrition, animal feed, environment, geochemistry, petrochemistry, metallurgy, human biology, and pharmacy, etc. Compact stainless-steel oven with a capacity of 27 liters; the interior temperature of the sample vessels (8 pcs) is determined with a contact-free IR thermometer, thus absolutely contamination-free temperature determination being insured; closeable rotors with collecting vessel ensures top-level safety and long service life; simple retrofitting of an evaporation/concentration unit because of integrated suction feature; the integrated control enables the system to be operated after charging with samples.

It allows advanced research with the possibility of adapting to the rapid changes which take place in the life sciences. Karl Fischer Coulometric Titrator C20

Electrochemical system for determination of water traces in various samples (range of water content in samples from 1 ppm to 5%). Compact equipment with coulometric cell without diaphragm, titration vessel, platinum electrode, automatic system for draining / solvent manager (ISO 10337 or equivalent compatible); sample weight (liquid or solid): 10 µg – 200 mg; color displayed (selectable measurement unit); method creation and saving, through existing software; resolution H2O: 0.1 µg. Samples from the domains: petroleum industry, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food industry, etc.

Portable Raman Spectrometer

Portable dual wavelength Raman analyzer equipped with options of 785 and 1064 nm stabilized laser, providing high sensitivity. Xantus-2 utilizes integrated software combining open architecture with customizable, user-defined settings for optimized sampling parameters that result in comprehensive and actionable data analysis. This device does not require special preparation of samples; liquid and solid samples can be analysed.
